A sonochemical synthesis of the piperazine-containing adducts of the C60 fullerene: Fullerenes, Nanotubes and Carbon Nanostructures: Vol 0, No 0


We have now labored out a selective and environment friendly mode of the synthesis of substituted and unsubstituted piperazine-containing mono-adducts of the C60 fullerene. It’s primarily based on the C60 response with piperazine, 2-methylpiperazine, and 2-oxopiperazine beneath air, room temperature and ultrasonication. The intermediate of the sonochemical response is radical anion C60 •–, which was detected with EPR (g = 1.9968, ΔH = 5.9 G). This intermediate is generated because of one-electron switch from piperazine to the C60 molecule.
